This car comes in a sport utility body type with four passenger doors and is fitted with auto-leveling xenon HID headlights in a well pronounced and stylish grille. The 2016 Sorento has a redesigned front fascia and a stainless steel bumper. It also comes with 17”, 18” or 19” well-polished allow wheels. Optional add-ons include rearview camera, roof rails among others.

The 2016 Sorento has a towing capacity of up to 5000lbs for the 3.3ltr AWD Sorento LX. It will be prudent to note that the 2016 KIA Sorento has five trim levels; L, LX, EX, SX, and SX Limited, therefore the exterior may not be 100% the same in all 2016 KIA Sorento SUVs.

The interior is spacious enough to host five to seven comfortable passengers depending on the trim of choice.

It comes with a working air conditioning system, heated mirrors, heated front seats, power steering, keyless entry, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, an infotainment system, satellite radio, a sound reducing wind shield, a touch screen interface, navigation system only to mention a few. It also has three mode drive settings; Normal, Sport and Eco, that basically alter the steering and transmission shift points.

The seats are upholstered in soft leather or richly textured clothing plus the rear seats are foldable in case there’s a lot of luggage to carry. With all 7 seats in use, the car offers 11.3 cubic feet of luggage space, that space increases to 38 cubic feet once the third row seats are folded and 73 cubic feet if the second row seats are folded.

Under the hood, performance and power output increases as you move up the trim levels with the L trim being the lowest and the SX Limited being the most performing. In this article we focus on two of the popular 2016 KIA Sorento trims; the 2.4ltr LX and 3.3ltr LX trims.

The 2.4ltr LX trim comes with a 2.4ltr inline-4 engine that yields 185 horsepower at 6000RPM and 178lb-ft of torque at 4000RPM. The engine runs on gasoline. This trim has a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual mode support. On fuel economy, the car does 21MPG for city and 26MPG for highway. The 2.4ltr LX trim also comes with both front wheel and all-wheel drive drivetrain options.

On the other hand, the 3.3ltr LX trim is fitted with a 3.3ltr V6 engine that yields 290 horsepower at 6400RPM and 252lb-ft of torque at 5300RPM. The engine also runs on gasoline and comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual mode support. This trim is available in both front wheel and all-wheel drive drivetrain. On fuel economy, the 3.3ltr does 18MPG for city and 26MPG for highway.

2016 KIA Sorento Price and Release Date

The 2016 KIA Sorento is expected to go for about USD $24,900 MSRP for the base L trim. The price increases up to USD $43,100 MSRP for the SX Limited trim. The actual release date is yet to be released but speculators put it at the end of 2015.
